Rolling Stock

Majority of the stock is ready to run weathered by ourselves using weathering paints from Phoenix and Tamiya.  They are all fitted with Kadee couplers to give real shunting effect without the hand of god. However placement of the magnets in some locations has given some teething problems.

Operation of the layout is via two control boxes mounted on large flat mount picture hooks. One is used to control the rolling stock via Gaugemaster Hand Held controllers, points via a pen and studs on the panel and section control via switches configured for cab control.

The fiddle yard at the read of the Goods Yard board has three lines for the line approaching the station and one for the other. The extension board is used to enable 4 coach trains to be operated at exhibitions and to act as storage for stock.

Shunting of the stock and run round in the station is assisted by magnets recessed into the board bases.  Placement of these was critical especial on the reception siding as it is on a slight curve.
