Sold to a new Owner

Magram TMD is based on Margam Traction Maintenance Depot near Port Talbot, South Wales. The layout track plan is very similar to the actual shed layout. The main difference being the entry to the shed which is now from the main line at the front rather than from further away. This was altered due to space constraints when the layout was designed.

The layout has also had a town and industrial area added to provide more for the viewing public to see as the Margam area is very flat and industrial area.

Built over a period of 4 years, the track work is Peco code 80 and is operated using standard DC controllers. The scenery is made up of the usual kits, off the shelf bits and pieces along with some adapted buildings from Peco and Ratio that make up the Engine Shed. Tea leaves have been used extensively over the layout as ballast which provides a good scale effect. A 12 road fiddle yard can be split to allow up to 24 trains to support the operation of the layout.

All rolling stock is RTR from both Dapol and Farish, some have been converted to DCC operation in preparation for future projects.
